# Mark message read

Hi  
I see you can mark all message as read for a user in a channel but what is the API call to mark just one messageId to read ?

There is no such API available to mark the specific message as read for a user. You can read more about the mark-as-read functionality [here](https://sendbird.com/developer/tutorials/read-receipts-sendbird-chat).
