# React native SDK breaks with incorrect error message (Or sendbird has an infrastructure error)

Upon trying to authenticate a user the react native SDK throws the following error

ERROR [com.sendbird.calls.SendBirdException: The http request failed. (Unable to resolve host “api-.calls.sendbird.com”: No address associated with hostname)]

Creating users on the BE with `api-<MY APP ID>.sendbird.com` works fine

So I suspect this is a react native SDK error.

I saw this reported 4 times on the form with no answer so my expectations are low.
