# Sendbird Chat stability improvements for iOS 15 users

We’re always looking for opportunities to improve the scalability and stability of the Sendbird platform, and we recently applied an update to address a common cause of intermittent crashes for iOS 15 users. Applications using Sendbird iOS Chat SDK v3.0.226 or higher have been updated to use the native iOS WebSocket functionality. Native WebSocket functionality was introduced in iOS 13, and prior to that, we leveraged the third-party library SocketRocket for WebSocket support.

**iOS Chat SDK v3.0.226 or higher**  
All new Sendbird applications using v3.0.226 or higher created since May 2021 already rely on the native WebSocket functionality by default. Subsequently, this update was primarily targeted at Sendbird applications using v3.0.226 or higher created _before May 2021_ .

**iOS Chat SDK v3.0.225 or lower**  
v3.0.225 or lower relies strictly on the third-party library SocketRocket for WebSocket support so iOS 15 users may continue to experience intermittent crashes due to the same cause. To address these issues, _please update your SDK version to v3.0.226 or later_.
