[Usage calculation] File storage

What is file storage?

The cumulative amount of file size stored in Sendbird server from the start of your subscription. Storage allowance depends on the subscription plan of your organization.
*Notes: the file storage usage is cumulative and roll over to the next months if you don’t delete files (i.e. Google Drive)

How is usage calculated per application?

[Formula]

File storage is measured once a day and added to the cumulative monthly usage.
The usage does not reset unless file(s) is deleted by users or channel retention.

[Example]

The following is an example of usage calculation for file storage at an application level.

Usage for January 1 - 31, February 1-28
January 1: stored 1 GB
January 10: stored 2 GB
January 15: stored 6 GB
February 2: stored 5 GB
February 14: stored 10GB
February 20: stored 3GB
February 25: stored 7 GB

Then, application’s file storage usage for month of January is:

1 + 2 + 6 = 9 GB

and application’s file storage usage for month of February is:

1 + 2 + 6 + 5 + 10 + 3 + 7 = 34 GB

How is usage calculated per organization?

The sum of all file size stored in Sendbird server across all existing applications within the organization.
The usage does not reset unless file(s) is deleted by a user or channel retention.

[Example]

Let’s say there is a total of 3 applications within your organization.
file size stored for each application is as shown below:

App A : 40 GB
App B : 100 GB
App C : 20 GB

Then, organization’s file storage for this month is:

40 + 100 + 20 = 160 GB
