Open channel push notification & unread count

Hi

I have 2 specific questions regarding open channel as these 2 features are not yet supported.

  1. Can you send best practices on push notification from our backend API?
  2. Can you send best practices on managing unread message count for open channel.

It doesn’t sound like an Open Channel is suited for what you are looking to do. How many participants are you anticipating in your channel?

We don’t track read vs unread messages in open channels and thus there is no way to obtain a count.
